Why our service set looks the way it does
We split flooring work into eight scopes because that's how Bellingham homes actually present. A 1920s Fairhaven Victorian has different flooring problems than a 1980s Sudden Valley cabin or a 2010 Barkley townhome, so the material and the prep change, and the warranty paperwork changes with them.
Before we price anything we run a moisture meter on the subfloor, and acclimation time goes in the quote in writing. We hold manufacturer-certified installer status with the brands we install most. We'll also tell you when you don't need us. Sometimes a sand-and-recoat saves you from a full refinish. Sometimes a 1900s plank floor can be repaired instead of replaced.
What's not on the list
We won't install peel-and-stick vinyl over an uneven subfloor, and we won't glue down hardwood without proper substrate moisture readings. Same goes for laying new floor over old carpet padding or compromised plywood. Some jobs look easy on paper and turn into callbacks in 18 months, and we'd rather you hire someone else than do them wrong.
